Gather round the table, everyone!

My name is Wes and I'm responsible (now that's a scary thought) for collecting and organizing the recipes that people send to me. Now before you go and think random people just send me food recipes (not that that wouldn't be welcomed!) let me explain a little bit about how this blog came about.
I climbed onto the Nexus wagon in June of 2018, so I'm still shiny new. One of the things that has really struck home for me is how practical and concrete the expressions of faith and community are here. To wit: Soup Sunday. I'll own I have no idea who came up with that idea, or how it got off the ground, but boy, oh boy am I ever glad it exists.
It's nothing fancy, a bunch of members volunteer to bring soup in one Sunday a month, a long table is set up, and our community feasts communally after service. I've quickly come to love seeing the announcement on our Facebook pages that Soup Sunday is coming up, and I do my level best to make sure I attend. I mean really, who doesn't love a nice hot meal shared with friends? Exactly my point.
The blog got its start during November's lunch when I tracked down the creator of the soup that wowed me and asked for his recipe. Francis was kind enough to send it to me. As it turns out, I wasn't the only one who wanted the recipe and I thought it would be a neat idea to ask for recipes and collect them somewhere that *anyone* who wanted them could have them. For me, even just reading the recipes that have come in brings to mind a chilly Sunday filled with warm people, tasty soup and a feeling of joy.
I will be posting recipes and non-recipe posts alike, and it's my hope that what you find here bring you warmth, joy, community, and nourishment of both body and soul.
